My rig for measuring tooth lash on bevel drives. The relieved jig “door” retains the ring gear concentric whereas being simple to assemble and disassemble. The “axle”and enormous “Nut” compress the bronze shim for correct measurements. The little thumbwheel opens an enlargement joint, locking the decrease ring to the splines hub, permitting the operator to “wiggle” the ring gear and get the measurement. The pinion is locked with a tapered clamp. I consider that is an enchancment over the considerably primitive methodology described within the manufacturing unit handbook. #beveldriverepair #gearboxrepair #scottiesworkshop #vintagebmwmotorcycles
