That is going to be a little bit of a leap of religion – my first gasoline tank restore. That is an MZ TS125/150 tank from son Thomas and has thankfully been empty for a few years, having been saved within the open in somebody’s backyard – no surprise it’s rusty.
It’s constructed from two deep pressings, with a 3rd to kind the arch over the body prime tube. There seems to have been a butt weld between the 2 halves, which has corroded to holes. My plan is to take out the entire weld, all the way in which round, together with a 1/2” strip both facet after which let in a 1” strip of 0.9 mm sheet. I make no apologies for mixing models – anarchy is alive and nicely right here within the workshop.
