Amelia Squariel: VMCC Blakeney Run

 Sunday brings the primary VMCC run of the 12 months, the primary of many I hope. The W/NG is at Son Tom’s home with a lifeless speedo, so the primary journey of the day is to go down there, meet up and change the speedo cable.

That completed, it is off to the beginning level at Spooner Row simply exterior Wymondham through a petroleum cease.

We arrive on time (for the primary time!) and signal on, seize a cup of espresso and are welcomed by the group falling simply into chatting about our bikes and the place we’ve got come from. One or two keep in mind us from Letheringsett 2022 and from a Blue Sky run I did alone a number of years again. At 11, we set off for Blakeney, a 40 mile journey by means of the Norfolk countryside. Tom leads, as each bikes have rout rollers now:

Tom leads that’s till his speedo cable snaps once more at 7 miles into the run, 27 miles into the day. Tulip sheet navigation is hard with no speedo! I take over, and we arrive secure and sound at Blakeney Quay, for espresso and a burger from Birdys Bakehouse, and really good it was too.

Tom and I half on the way in which residence – he is driving the SQ4, as there may be quite a lot of oil coming from the rear of the highest finish of the W/NG and the speedo wants fixing once more. That is 85 miles – hardly fault free however neither of us stopped unexpectedly.
