–SG– Again in April 2018 we had a quick posting about Don Morley’s classic CS1 – which he had mentioned, barely optimistically for my part, he thought was Stanley Woods’ 1927 TT machine. He not had the machine on the time and was thus unable to offer helpful element like engine and body numbers.
Nevertheless, many thanks are attributable to Martin, who has not too long ago executed a little bit of analysis for me into the bike’s obvious registration quantity JO 8834. And what did he discover? That this quantity was first allotted by Oxford County Council, on twenty fourth April 1934, to a Mr J C Bowman dwelling in Downham Market. And the machine it associated to is proven as a Mannequin 30 Norton Worldwide. So fairly how JO 8834 completed up on a regular trying Moore CS1 is anybody’s guess! A scan is hooked up of the entry within the Oxford information.
